Sensol signs MOU with Instrumentel Limited in U.K.

Monday 25 August 2008, 11:00am

Sensol Ltd. has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Instrumentel Limited, a Telemetric Technologies company in the United Kingdom.

Instrumentel is an R&D-based company specialising in battery-less telemetry and actuation technologies. In particular the company has developed a custom silicon chip that has a feature set including RFID, 2-way near-field communications, 1-way far-field communications and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +225°C. The chip can be interfaced to many different types of sensors and hence can been utilised to wirelessly retrieve data from previously inaccessible harsh environments. The device has also been configured to enable electronic locking of containers, pallets etc. and the company has developed back-end PC-based software to authorise and control access. The technology is the subject of patent protection.

The MOU provides the basis for discussions regarding Sensol and Instrumentel combining their technological expertise in the development of new and innovative sensor solutions particularly in the field of security systems for commercial purposes. The MOU will also support discussions with the intention of Sensol being appointed exclusive representative for Australasia and South East Asia for the marketing of Instrumentel's technology, products and engineering services, and reciprocal arrangements for the introduction of Sensol's technologies into the European market.

Ian Bergman, Sensol CEO, said "We are particularly excited at the prospects of joining forces with Instrumentel.  Our two companies are a natural fit and over time we expect the relationship to create new opportunities for us in the local and international sensors market".
